Palo Santo® Ritual grains

Palo Santo is a natural incense with a thousand-year tradition, made from the Bursera graveolens plant. Its aroma has many benefits: it purifies the energies of the environment, encourages inner harmony and mental and physical balance, and stimulates concentration and introspection.

Why you should choose the Ritual variety:

It is the variety from the Manabí region of Ecuador. The Palo Santo that comes from this region lives in a favourable environment: the soil is not very rocky, the temperature's changes are more gentle and the climatic and environmental conditions are influenced by the proximity of the sea. These factors make the aroma of this variety more delicate and balsamic.

The grains of the RITUAL variety are bigger than those of the Ancestral variety and they have a cubed cut.

How to use Palo Santo grains:

The use of Palo Santo grains is very simple:

1. Light a charcoal and place it on the metal screen inside the brazier (see one of our handmade, terracotta braziers).
2. When the charcoal becomes glowing, take a socket of grains and place it on it.
3. The Palo Santo wood grain slowly heats up until it releases a fair amount of smoke.
4. Let the grains burn on the charcoal until they no longer release smoke.
5. The duration of fumigation also depends on the size of the Palo Santo grains chosen for fumigation.
6. For better fumigation, turn the charcoal with tweezers halfway through use.
7. For more controlled and longer-lasting fumigation close the brazier.
8. When the grains are charred, remove them and add new ones.

Compared to sticks, the grain format produces a more intense and longer-lasting smoke, without the need to continually light the incense as is necessary with the stick. Unlike shavings, the grains do not need to be renewed.
